Cette amélioration s'étendra même aux productions de la terre. On peut lier les premiers mots du verset à ce qui suit et traduire : La plante de la paix, la vigne, donnera son fruit. Mais le mot hébreu signifie semence et non pas plante, et pourquoi la vigne serait-elle appelée plante de paix, plutôt que les autres végétaux ? C'est là ce qui nous fait préférer la traduction admise dans le texte, quoique la construction dans ce sens soit un peu forcée. Comparez Osée 2.21-22.
