Etablit Salomon. Comparez 29.22, où Salomon est établi roi une seconde fois, et, cette fois-là, par l'onction. Dans notre passage il s'agit sans doute simplement de la proclamation par David, tandis que 29.22 raconte l'avènement effectif de Salomon au trône. Pour le fond, 29.22 correspond à 1 Rois chapitre 1, mais avec de grandes différences dans la forme de la narration. Notre auteur passe sous silence la royauté d'Adonija, comme précédemment celle d'Isboseth.

David, ayant donné ses instructions au sujet de la construction du temple, définit maintenant le service qui devait s'y dérouler, et donne ses ordres aux différents dirigeants d'Israël.

Quand les membres d'une même famille ont travaillé harmonieusement ensemble, ils devraient, dans ce même esprit, être enclins à aimer et aider leur prochain.
