Affaires extérieures. Il ne saurait s'agir simplement ici, comme dans Néhémie 11.16, du service extérieur du temple ; les expressions de la fin du verset : magistrats et juges, réclament une sphère d'activité plus étendue. C'étaient des fonctionnaires locaux de l'ordre judiciaire, semblables aux modernes cadis. D'après 23.4, il y avait en tout 6000 de ces magistrats et juges lévitiques ; ceux que mentionne notre verset étaient sans doute les chefs.
