    • Job 18

13 The members of his body shall be devoured. The firstborn of death shall devour his members.
14 He shall be rooted out of his tent where he trusts. He shall be brought to the king of terrors.

      Psaumes 49

8 For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,
9 That he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.
10 For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.
12 But man, despite his riches, doesn't endure. He is like the animals that perish.
13 This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah.
14 They are appointed as a flock for Sheol . Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol , far from their mansion.
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol , for he will receive me. Selah.

      Psaumes 89

      Ecclésiaste 2

15 Then I said in my heart, "As it happens to the fool, so will it happen even to me; and why was I then more wise?" Then I said in my heart that this also is vanity.
16 For of the wise man, even as of the fool, there is no memory for ever, since in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. Indeed, the wise man must die just like the fool!

      Ecclésiaste 3

19 For that which happens to the sons of men happens to animals. Even one thing happens to them. As the one dies, so the other dies. Yes, they have all one breath; and man has no advantage over the animals: for all is vanity.

      Ecclésiaste 8

8 There is no man who has power over the spirit to contain the spirit; neither does he have power over the day of death. There is no discharge in war; neither shall wickedness deliver those who practice it.

      Ecclésiaste 9

5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead don't know anything, neither do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten.
6 Also their love, their hatred, and their envy has perished long ago; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun.

      Osée 13

14 I will ransom them from the power of Sheol . I will redeem them from death! Death, where are your plagues? Sheol, where is your destruction? "Compassion will be hidden from my eyes.

55 "Death, where is your sting? Hades , where is your victory?"

      Apocalypse 9

10 They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.

      Apocalypse 20

13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.
14 Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
