2 Chroniques 15.9

De nombreux Israélites des tribus d’Éfraïm, Manassé et Siméon s’étaient ralliés au roi Asa et vivaient dans son royaume depuis qu’ils avaient vu que le Seigneur son Dieu était avec lui. Le roi les convoqua, avec tous les habitants de Juda et de Benjamin.
Il rassembla tout Juda et Benjamin avec les membres des tribus d'Ephraïm, de Manassé et de Siméon qui habitaient parmi eux. En effet, un grand nombre d'Israélites s’étaient ralliés à lui lorsqu'ils avaient vu que l'Eternel, son Dieu, était avec lui.

Et de Siméon. Ces mots sont étonnants, car le territoire de Siméon faisait partie du royaume de Juda. Il faut admettre, ou bien que les Siméonites avaient leur culte particulier à Béerséba (comparez Amos 5.5 ; 8.14), ou bien qu'un grand nombre de Siméonites habitaient en dehors du territoire de leur tribu. Dans un cas comme dans l'autre, les éléments pieux qui se trouvaient parmi eux, ainsi que ceux du royaume du nord (Ephraïm, Manassé), furent attirés par le règne théocratique d'Asa, comme cela avait eu lieu du temps de Roboam (11.16-17).
