Grec : "Ne donnant aucun achoppement en rien, ou à personne," ce qui peut s'entendre, non seulement de l'apôtre et de ses compagnons d'œuvre, mais s'appliquer aussi à ses lecteurs. Le but de cette sainte vigilance est qu'aucune tache ne rejaillisse sur le ministère (service) dont Paul est revêtu.
