2 Samuel 10.6

Les Ammonites comprennent que David ne peut plus les supporter, à cause de ce qu’ils ont fait. Alors ils paient 20 000 soldats des États syriens de Beth-Rehob et de Soba, 1 000 soldats de l’armée du roi de Maaka et 12 000 hommes du pays de Tob.

Ce secours envoyé par les Syriens aux Ammonites n'a rien de commun avec la guerre contre ces mêmes Syriens dont il a été parlé 8.5. La rencontre avec eux eut lieu dans ce cas-ci près de Rabbath-Ammon, tandis que 8.5 la bataille a pour théâtre la Syrie septentrionale.

Ceux qui sont en guerre contre les puissances des ténèbres, aux côtés de Christ, le « Fils de David », sont non seulement un sujet de provocation pour leurs ennemis, mais aussi les initiateurs du conflit. Dieu possède toutes les forces nécessaires pour lutter contre ceux qui osent défier Sa colère, Esa 5:19 ; Il saura convaincre les Siens, qu'aucun de ceux qui ont endurci leur cœur contre Lui, ne pourra prospérer.

Les « soldats » de Christ devraient se soutenir mutuellement dans leur guerre contre Satan.

Que rien ne manque dans notre « armure spirituelle », le combat mené doit conduire à la victoire. Quand nous sommes persuadés d'accomplir notre devoir, nous pouvons, avec satisfaction, laisser Dieu conduire les événements, possédant avec assurance, l'espérance qu'Il nous sauvera, à Sa manière et au temps voulu !
