2 Samuel 14.14

Car certainement nous mourrons, et nous sommes semblables aux eaux qui s'écoulent sur la terre, lesquelles on ne ramasse point. Or Dieu ne lui a point ôté la vie, mais il a trouvé un moyen pour ne rejeter point loin de lui celui qui a été rejeté.
Il nous faut certainement mourir. Comme des eaux répandues à terre ne se rassemblent plus, Dieu ne relève pas un mort, mais dans sa pensée, il ne faut pas que celui qui est banni loin de lui le reste.
Nous devons tous mourir, notre vie est comme de l’eau répandue sur le sol et qu’on ne peut plus recueillir si Dieu n’en assure l’être. Mais son dessein n’est pas de tenir loin de lui l’exilé.
