2 Samuel 23.5

N’en est-il pas ainsi de ma dynastie devant Dieu, puisqu’il a conclu avec moi une alliance éternelle, en tout bien établie et qu’il respectera toujours ? En toutes circonstances, il œuvre à mon salut, il accomplit tous mes désirs.

De ma maison. Ces mots font positivement allusion à la promesse divine de 2Samuel 7.12-16.

Une alliance... Le rôle glorieux accordé à la famille de David repose uniquement sur l'alliance que Dieu a trouvé bon de conclure avec lui et qu'il a fidèlement gardée jusqu'à ce jour.

Mon salut : le salut promis à moi et à ma maison.

Tout ce que je désire, littéralement : le bon plaisir, soit le mien, soit peut-être celui de Dieu lui-même.
