Solennelle conclusion de ce qui précède : Puisque je vous ai annoncé tout le conseil de Dieu pour la rédemption du monde et le salut de vos âmes, je suis net de votre sang, (Actes 18.6) innocent de votre mort, si vous vous perdez.

Je vous l'atteste, je vous en prends à témoin, en ce jour de notre dernière entrevue. De telles paroles, et tout ce discours de Paul, nous révèlent en lui une conscience si pure, un apostolat tellement sanctifié, qu'on en reste humilié, saisi de crainte et de tremblement !
