Actes 25.1-27

World English Bible Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, "You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you shall go."

Chaque magistrat romain avait un conseil, dont les membres portaient le titre d'assesseurs, il devait prendre leur avis dans les cas graves.

L'appel à l'empereur pouvait être écarté lorsque les motifs invoqués étaient manifestement insuffisants. Festus annonce à Paul que sa demande est accueillie, et ainsi s'accomplit la destinée de l'apôtre.
