World English Bible for they are spirits of demons, performing signs; which go forth to the kings of the whole inhabited earth, to gather them together for the war of that great day of God, the Almighty.

La première proposition : car ce sont des esprits de démons qui font des prodiges, forme une sorte de parenthèse explicative.

La proposition suivante est introduite, en grec, par un pronom relatif, qui la rattache aux "trois esprits impurs." (verset 13) Elle indique le but de leur apparition.

Les rois de toute la terre représentent le monde entier soumis à l'action de l'Antéchrist. (Apocalypse 20.8)

La bataille du grand jour du Dieu tout-puissant est cette lutte décisive qui se produira au retour de Christ, et où toutes les puissances hostiles qui menacent le règne de Dieu seront anéanties. (Apocalypse 14.20 ; 17.14 ; 19.19)

Le jour de l'Eternel, le jour du jugement dernier, est déjà représenté dans Joël 3.9-17 comme le jour d'une grande bataille, à laquelle toutes les nations sont convoquées dans la vallée de Josaphat.
