Apocalypse 19.13

Ce sang est celui de ses ennemis qu'il vient de fouler au pressoir, (Apocalypse 14.19,20 ; Esaïe 63.1-3) et non son propre sang, qu'il a répandu pour sauver les hommes.

Après la description du cavalier, l'indication de son nom : la Parole de Dieu. Ce nom caractéristique le désigne comme celui auquel tend et en qui se concentre toute la révélation. Il est cette révélation personnifiée. Il est celui qui a fait connaître, qui a accompli comme Agneau, et qui va exécuter comme Juge le dessein éternel de Dieu. Ici apparaît, pour la première fois, cette notion capitale de la Parole (grec le logos), qui se retrouvera développé dans l'épître (1Jean 1.1) et dans le prologue de l'évangile de Jean. (Jean 1.1-18)
