Et le Seigneur lui livra Jéhojakim. Le sort de Jéhojakim, après la prise de sa capitale, n'est pas raconté ici. D'après 2Chroniques 36.6, Nébucadnetsar le lia de chaînes pour le mener à Babylone. Y fut-il réellement conduit ? Si c'est le cas, il en revint, comme Manassé (2Chroniques 33.13). Mais le passage 2Rois 24.1 suppose plutôt que Nébucadnetsar, après avoir eu l'intention de l'emmener à Babylone, changea d'avis et le laissa gouverner la Judée en qualité de roi tributaire.

Sinéar, nom primitif de la Babylonie : voir à Genèse 10.10.

Les vases du temple de Dieu déposés dans le temple du dieu protecteur de Nébucadnetsar, Bel-Mérodac (4.8), devaient être un trophée de la victoire remportée par ce dieu sur le Dieu et la peuple de Juda.

Le trésor était l'endroit du temple où l'on déposait les ustensiles sacrés et le butin offert aux dieux.
