World English Bible The man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Yahweh your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die: and you shall put away the evil from Israel.

Le sacrificateur. Ce mot est pris au sens collectif, comme le juge, verset 9, et plus loin dans ce verset même. Ou peut-être désigne-t-il spécialement le souverain sacrificateur comme président du tribunal. Il ne saurait être ici question, comme on l'a pensé, d'après l'exemple d'Eli (1Samuel 4.18), des personnages appelés les Juges, qui ont gouverné tantôt une partie du peuple, tantôt une autre, entre Josué et les Rois ; les fonctions de ces hommes étaient autant politiques et militaires que judiciaires, et ils n'habitaient pas toujours au lieu du sanctuaire.

Tu ôteras le mal. Voir, verset 7 et 13.6. Tolérer cette révolte, ce serait, de la part du peuple, s'en rendre complice, comme pour l'idolâtrie.
