N'oublie pas la distance qui sépare la créature de son Créateur, et ne cherche pas plus à payer Dieu avec des paroles qu'avec des sacrifices (Matthieu 6.7-8).

Ne te hâte pas d'ouvrir la bouche, littéralement : Ne te précipite pas sur ta bouche. Si tu avais un jour l'honneur d'être admis auprès d'un puissant de la terre pour lui présenter une requête, te laisserais-tu aller à un flux de paroles inconsidérées ?
