9 à 16 Ne crains point, Juda, lorsque tu vois tes ennemis se liguer contre toi ; car Dieu est avec nous ! Aussi m'a-t-il appris à ne point partager les frayeurs du grand nombre, à ne craindre que lui seul. Cet enseignement divin doit être gravé dans le cœur des disciples de Jéhova.

Le prophète défie les ennemis des juifs : leurs efforts seront vains, et eux-mêmes réduits en pièces !

Il nous incombe, quand nous traversons l'épreuve, de veiller à ne pas emprunter des voies douteuses, en vue de rester en sécurité. La crainte fervente de Dieu, préserve de l'inquiétude que nous pourrions éprouver devant l'agressivité des hommes. Si nous savions évaluer à sa juste mesure, la Grandeur et la Gloire de Dieu, nous pourrions voir toute la puissance de nos ennemis s'anéantir. Le Seigneur est un véritable « sanctuaire spirituel » pour ceux qui Lui font confiance, qui Le craignent, et qui placent leur espérance en Lui, mais Il est aussi une pierre d'achoppement pour Ses ennemis. Si nous nous heurtons à la Parole de Dieu, cette dernière sera pour nous une occasion de chute. L'apôtre Pierre rappelle cette pensée à tous ceux qui persistent dans leur incrédulité vis-à-vis de l'évangile de Christ, 1Pierre 2:8.

« L'Emmanuel crucifié », qui était une Pierre d'achoppement et un Rocher de chute pour les juifs incrédules, l'est également pour les milliers de personnes qui se disent « Chrétiens », alors que la prédication de la croix est pour eux, une folie ; les doctrines et les préceptes divins les scandalisent !
