Elle jeta. Il ne résulte point de ce mot qu'elle le portât, comme on l'a pensé pour en conclure que l'auteur de ce fragment regardait Ismaël comme étant encore un tout jeune enfant. Le mot jeter signifie qu'Hagar, après avoir soutenu Ismaël mourant de soif, l'abandonne et le laisse s'affaisser sous un arbrisseau du désert.
