וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ רָא֣וֹ רָאִינוּ֮ כִּֽי־הָיָ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה ׀ עִמָּךְ֒ וַנֹּ֗אמֶר תְּהִ֨י נָ֥א אָלָ֛ה בֵּינוֹתֵ֖ינוּ בֵּינֵ֣ינוּ וּבֵינֶ֑ךָ וְנִכְרְתָ֥ה בְרִ֖ית עִמָּֽךְ׃
Et ils répondirent : Nous avons vu clairement que l'Eternel est avec toi ; et nous avons dit : Qu'il y ait maintenant un serment avec exécration entre nous, [c'est-à-dire], entre nous et toi ; et traitons alliance avec toi.

Nous avons vu... De la prospérité qu'ils voient naître partout sous ses pas ils ont conclu que c'est un homme qu'il vaut mieux avoir pour allié que pour ennemi.
