6-7. Avertissement de Dieu à Caïn

Ici encore, comme après la chute du premier homme (3.9), Dieu ne laisse pas le pécheur à lui-même ; il consent à lui parler pour le rendre conscient de sa faute et l'empêcher de se plonger plus avant dans le mal.

Plusieurs ont pensé que ces paroles étaient simplement la voix intérieure de la conscience chez Caïn. Mais après son crime la même voix se fait entendre, et cette fois il y a un entretien qui ne peut être celui du cœur de l'homme avec lui-même.
