Le sacrifice du Sauveur donne au croyant une ferme assurance (grec) pour l'entrée dans les lieux saints, c'est-à-dire dans la communion immédiate de Dieu, dont l'excluait auparavant le sentiment de son péché et de sa culpabilité.

Cette entrée, l'auteur la nomme un chemin nouveau et vivant que Jésus nous a inauguré au travers du voile, en pénétrant lui-même dans le saint des saints par l'efficace de son propre sang. (Comparer Hébreux 4.14, note ; Hébreux 7.25, note.)

Le chemin est nouveau, puisque nul auparavant ne pouvait entrer dans le lieu très saint, il est vivant, parce qu'il ne consiste pas en symboles extérieurs en cérémonies froides et mortes, mais en un rapport tout spirituel, en une communion intime avec Celui qui est vivant, et dont le sacrifice est la source même de la vie : réconciliés avec Dieu par lui, nous pouvons nous approcher avec la filiale confiance de ses enfants.

- L'auteur fait encore un autre rapprochement très remarquable : il considère le voile comme la propre chair de Jésus-Christ. (Comparer Hébreux 9.8, note) La chair, par où l'Ecriture entend la nature humaine déchue, (Romains 1.3, note) était, en effet, la barrière qui nous séparaît de la communion avec Dieu.

Christ, devenu par son incarnation (Hébreux 2.14,10.5) chair de notre chair, en passant par la mort, en étant "vivifié en Esprit," (1Pierre 3.18) a déchiré ce voile. Il a rendu possible l'accès à la communion de Dieu pour tous ceux qui, unis avec lui, le suivent dans cette voie de la mort du vieil homme et de la vie nouvelle. (Hébreux 10.10) Un fait symbolique indiqua cette profonde vérité au moment même de la mort du Sauveur. (Matthieu 27.51,Marc 15.38)
