Cette salutation n'indique pas avec certitude le pays d'où la lettre a été écrite. Ce pourrait être d'une contrée où se trouvaient des frères venus d'Italie, mais c'est plus probablement de Rome, les mots ceux d'Italie désignent, en ce cas, l'entourage de l'auteur. (Voir l'Introduction.)
