C'est ici, en d'autres termes, la vérité déjà exprimée à Hébreux 2.5, et dont la suite n'a été que le développement profond. Le monde à venir, la participation à la gloire de Christ, la rédemption, qui seule peut y conduire, tout ce que le Sauveur a été et a fait, ne concerne point des anges, mais l'homme pécheur.

Cette réflexion est une confirmation (car) de la nécessité où se trouvait le Sauveur de "participer au sang et à la chair." Il devait délivrer non des anges, mais des hommes, donc il devait être homme.

- Si l'auteur dit ici la postérité d'Abraham, quand, d'après le contexte, on aurait attendu la postérité d'Adam, c'est parce qu'il parle à des descendants du patriarche, sans que pour cela il exclue les païens.
