Jérémie 14.13

J’ai rĂ©pondu : « Ah ! Seigneur Eternel ! Ce sont les prophĂštes qui leur disent : ‘Vous ne verrez pas d'Ă©pĂ©e, vous n'aurez pas de famine, mais je vous donnerai une paix complĂšte dans cet endroit.’ »
Then I said, Ah, Lord Yahweh! behold, the prophets tell them, You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.

Le prophÚte revient à la charge. Il a encore une circonstance atténuante à alléguer en faveur du peuple : ils ont été séduits par les faux prophÚtes qui leur ont promis la prospérité sur cette voie.
