La plainte du prophète ne va pas tout à fait aussi loin que celle de Job, qui reproche même à Dieu de l'avoir fait naître.

Pourquoi Dieu ne répond-il rien dans cette circonstance à son serviteur ? Parce qu'il sait que la nature doit avoir le droit d'épancher sa douleur, et qu'après cette explosion excusable, la foi reprendra d'elle-même le dessus et aura le dernier mot. Le croyant corrigera et relèvera l'homme.
