Les cƓurs non repentants sont toujours prĂȘts Ă  accuser Dieu d'injustice, Ă  cause des afflictions qu'ils subissent. Ils peuvent nĂ©anmoins constater que c'est leur pĂ©chĂ© qui a provoquĂ© leur punition. Si les hommes s'enquerraient davantage de l'origine des difficultĂ©s que leur envoie le Seigneur, cela les ferait rĂ©flĂ©chir sur leurs diffĂ©rents pĂ©chĂ©s.

Les vagues agitĂ©es obĂ©issent aux dĂ©crets divins : mĂȘme si elles ont la taille d'une montagne, elles ne doivent pas outrepasser le sable des rivages ; cependant, elles rappellent parfois toutes les rĂšgles absolues de la loi divine, lorsqu'elles dĂ©ferlent sans mesure sur le monde, suite Ă  la mĂ©chancetĂ© des pĂ©cheurs ici-bas, ces derniers ne cherchant qu'Ă  satisfaire leur propre intĂ©rĂȘt.

Tandis que le Seigneur, annĂ©e aprĂšs annĂ©e, nous rĂ©serve des semaines propices Ă  la moisson, les hommes abusent de cette bonté : ils continuent Ă  transgresser Ses commandements. Le pĂ©chĂ© nous prive des bĂ©nĂ©dictions divines ; il rend le ciel et la terre austĂšres, aussi durs que des mĂ©taux. Il est certain que les Ă©lĂ©ments de ce monde ne sont pas les meilleurs, comparĂ©s aux merveilles cĂ©lestes ; il ne faut pas estimer, que malgrĂ© la prospĂ©ritĂ© de certains hommes mĂ©chants, Dieu tolĂšre leur conduite. Bien que la sentence divine contre les mauvaises Ɠuvres semble parfois tarder, elle sera inĂ©luctablement exĂ©cutĂ©e.

« Ne chĂątierais-je pas ces choses lĂ , dit l'Éternel » ? (Verset JĂ©rĂ©mie 5:29). Cette question souligne la vĂ©racitĂ© et l'imminence des jugements divins.

Que ceux qui marchent dans de mauvaises voies considĂšrent bien que leurs agissements auront une fin, et que cette derniĂšre sera bien amĂšre.
