N'intercède point. Il vient un moment où l'intercession même est hors de saison. Moïse avait encore pu intercéder pour Israël, mais Jérémie ne doit plus le faire pour cette génération. Cette pensée revient à diverses reprises dans les chapitres suivants : 11.14 ; 14.11 ; 15.1. Comparez 1Jean 5.16. Comme ces rebelles pèchent volontairement, il serait inutile de demander qu'ils se convertissent, et injuste d'intercéder pour qu'ils ne soient pas punis. Comparez un cas semblable : 1Samuel 16.1.
