Il y a de l'emphase dans cette triple répétition : le temple de l'Eternel. Ces paroles de jactance étaient prononcées par les faux prophètes et répétées par le peuple. Quand l' homme a répudié les obligations morales de la religion, il s'attache d'autant plus aux formes, aux coutumes et aux objets qui devaient n'être que les vases et les symboles de l'esprit, et le culte des murailles et des reliques remplace la consécration du cœur.
