      Job 6

      15 My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away;
16 Which are black by reason of the ice, in which the snow hides itself.
17 In the dry season, they vanish. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.

      Job 21

13 They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to Sheol .
23 One dies in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
32 Yet he will be borne to the grave. Men shall keep watch over the tomb.
33 The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him. All men shall draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.
34 So how can you comfort me with nonsense, because in your answers there remains only falsehood?"

      Job 24

19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters, so does Sheol those who have sinned.

      Psaumes 49

14 They are appointed as a flock for Sheol . Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol , far from their mansion.

      Psaumes 58

8 Let them be like a snail which melts and passes away, like the stillborn child, who has not seen the sun.
9 Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns, he will sweep away the green and the burning alike.

      Psaumes 68

2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

      Proverbes 14

32 The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.

      Ecclésiaste 9

4 For to him who is joined with all the living there is hope; for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead don't know anything, neither do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten.
6 Also their love, their hatred, and their envy has perished long ago; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun.

      Luc 12

20 "But God said to him, 'You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared--whose will they be?'

      Luc 16

22 It happened that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.
