Il s'en va, c'est ainsi que le Seigneur désigne son départ de ce monde et son retour auprÚs du PÚre, mais en passant par la mort. (Jean 7.33 ; 8.21) Toutefois ce grand événement ne dépendait pas de la trahison de Judas ; celui-ci ne fait que contribuer à l'accomplissement d'un plan divin, écrit dÚs longtemps dans la prophétie. (Comparer Actes 2.23)

La vie est un don de Dieu, mais l'homme est responsable de l'usage qu'il en fait, si elle devient pour lui un mal, il ne peut l'attribuer qu'à sa faute : tel n'était pas le dessein de Dieu. En présence de la perdition d'une ùme, cette parole de Jésus est d'une redoutable et mystérieuse vérité, mais dans les grandes afflictions de la vie présente, c'est par erreur que l'homme arrive quelquefois à considérer le don de l'existence comme un malheur. (Job 3.2 et suivants Jérémie 20.14 et suivants)
