Je t'ai connu : dans le sens biblique du mot, qui suppose une, intime communion.

Le pays de la soif : le désert, appelé ainsi soit en tant qu'ayant soif de pluie, soit comme la contrée où l'on a soif. Dans ses moments de détresse, Israël a reçu avec joie les secours de Dieu.
