Pour le premier membre, comparez 12.14. Le bien qu'un homme aura fait par ses paroles sages et bienveillantes, il le retrouvera ; il savourera à son tour le fruit que d'autres avaient recueilli de ses discours inspirés par de bons sentiments. Les perfides, qui sacrifient à leur profit toute sincérité, n'ont qu'une pensée : triompher par la violence, si la violence est nécessaire. Mais ils s'attirent de dures représailles.
