L'homme pervers. Voir 6.12. Littéralement : l'homme des perversions, des bouleversements, pour lequel il n'y a ni bien ni mal. Voir sur ce pluriel à 13.17.

Les amis. Le texte porte : l'ami, ce qui s'explique par le fait que le rapporteur, lorsqu'il accomplit sa triste besogne, n'a généralement en vue qu'un seul individu. probablement le plus intime. Il suit en cela le précepte latin : Divise pour être le maître ! Il sépare un ami de son meilleur ami, pour pouvoir régner lui-même plus complètement sur l'un et sur l'autre.

      Genèse 3

      1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made. He said to the woman, "Has God really said, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?'"
      2 The woman said to the serpent, "Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat,
      3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'"
