Le soutient dans sa maladie, littéralement : supporte sa langueur.

L'esprit abattu. Voir déjà 15.13 et 17.22. L'esprit a pour fonction de maintenir dans l'homme l'équilibre moral. Il doit avoir la haute main dans l'être tout entier. S'il manque à sa mission, il n'y a plus d'espoir. Voir cependant Esaïe 66.2 : Dieu porte ses regards sur celui qui souffre et dont l'esprit est abattu.
