11 à 14 Nous verrons bientôt quatre choses insatiables (verset 15), insondables (verset 18), intolérables (verset 21), petites et prudentes (verset 24), belles à voir (verset 29). Ici, sans que leur nombre soit indiqué, nous avons aussi quatre choses juxtaposées. Leur caractère commun n'est pas non plus exprimé ; il est facile à deviner : ce sont là des sentiments éminemment odieux à l'Eternel.

Cette priamèle se rattache à la sentence précédente par le mot maudit (débuts des versets 10 et 11).

Il est une race... Sont-ce les compatriotes et les contemporains de l'auteur ? A chacun de s'examiner pour voir s'il fait partie d'une société pareille.

Qui maudit son père. Comparez 20.20.

Et qui ne bénit pas. Espèce de litote. Dans toute l'Ecriture ne pas faire le bien, c'est faire le mal.
