Ta vigueur : l'éclat de la santé, l'ornement qui s'appelle le teint.

A d'autres : aux femmes impudiques.

Et tes années. La vie elle-même est menacée, et non pas seulement la santé.

Un homme cruel : le mari, qui pouvait exiger l'application de la loi, Lévitique 20.10 ; Deutéronome 22.22, laquelle stipulait pour des cas pareils la peine de mort, la lapidation, d'après Ezéchiel 16.40 ; Jean 8.5, ou bien qui ne promettait de se taire qu'à la condition que le coupable lui payât une indemnité énorme.

      14 I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin.
