Tu es brillant... Le psalmiste s'adresse à Dieu, dont la gloire dépasse infiniment en éclat celle des puissances terrestres. Ces puissances, avec leurs chefs, sont comparées à des montagnes formidables, d'où s'élancent les armées qui vont dépouiller les peuples voisins. Il peut paraître étrange à notre goût moderne que Dieu soit déclaré plus magnifique que des montagnes, mais de telles images sont familières aux Orientaux. Delitzsch cite le vers arabe suivant : Les nobles sont comme un abri haut élevé sur la montagne, où tu trouves le pain du soir et le repos.
