Psaumes 8.1

<> Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens!

Dieu est glorifié : - en ce qu'il nous est révélé personnellement, (Psaumes 8:1,2)
- pour avoir mis sous notre autorité les diverses créatures, et nous avoir rendus de peu inférieurs aux anges. (Psaumes 8:3-9)

Le psalmiste cherche à rendre à Dieu la gloire qui lui est due ; observez l'éclat d'une telle gloire au sein de ce pauvre monde !

Nous Lui appartenons, car Il nous a fait, Il nous protège, et prend un soin tout particulier à notre égard. La naissance, la vie, les miracles, la souffrance, la mort et l'ascension de Jésus sont connus à travers le monde entier. Aucun nom n'est si universellement connu, aucune puissance et influence ne sont généralement reconnues à ce point, que celles du Sauveur de l'humanité. Si cela est évident ici-bas, combien cela l'est davantage dans le monde céleste. Nous ne nous adressons sur cette terre, qu'au nom excellent de Dieu ; il en est de même pour nos prières. Les anges et les esprits célestes voient cette même gloire et adressent ce même type de prières. Dieu est ainsi merveilleusement exalté à l'unisson par ces bénédictions et ces prières. Quelquefois, la Grâce divine se révèle merveilleusement aux jeunes enfants. D'autres fois, la puissance divine est en mesure d'apporter de grandes choses à l'église, ceci par l'intermédiaire d'éléments relativement discrets et sans éclat, ce qui démontre de manière évidente que cette action est d'origine divine et non humaine. Tout ceci est fait à cause des ennemis, pour les réduire au silence.
