Meurs pour le fils. C'étaient là probablement les premières paroles d'un chant à la mélodie duquel était adapté notre psaume.

David demande à Dieu de protéger son peuple. (Psaumes 9:1-10)
Il s'adresse pour cette raison directement à Lui. (Psaumes 9:11-20)

Si nous voulons prier Dieu avec efficacité, nous devons Le prier en toute sincérité, de tout notre cœur. Quand nous Le remercions pour une grâce particulière, nous devons aussi nous rappeler toutes les grâces précédentes accomplies. Notre joie ne doit pas être basée uniquement sur le don, mais bien plus, sur le donateur. Les victoires du Rédempteur devraient faire l'objet de la joie triomphante du racheté. La toute puissance de Dieu est celle devant laquelle le plus fort et le plus résigné de ses ennemis ne peuvent se tenir. Nous sommes certains que le jugement de Dieu est basé sur la vérité et que sous Son regard, ne peut régner que la droiture. Les siens, par la foi, trouvent en Lui leur refuge et peuvent ainsi dépendre pleinement, en toute sécurité, de Sa puissance et de ses promesses de sorte qu'aucun mal ne peut leur être fait. Ceux qui le connaissent en tant que Père éternel savent qu'ils peuvent lui confier pleinement leur âme, Lui faire confiance en tout temps, jusqu'au bout ; ils sont dans une recherche constante de Sa satisfaction, durant toute leur vie. Qui, suite à tout cela, ne voudrait pas le rechercher, ou oserait abandonner ceux qui le recherchent ?
