Appelés de Jésus-Christ, qui, en vertu de l'appel que vous avez reçu, appartenez à Jésus-Christ ; et non : "appelés par JésusChrist ;" car l'auteur de l'appel, c'est Dieu. (Romains 8.30 ; 9.24)

Ils sont appelés par Dieu pour être à Jésus-Christ. (1Corinthiens 1.9,26-28 ; Galates 1.6)

Il s'agit de cet appel efficace qui est une partie essentielle de l'œuvre de la grâce, (Romains 8.29,30) d'un appel entendu et suivi, (verset 7) et non d'une vocation à laquelle l'homme résiste, comme celle dont Jésus parle dans Matthieu 22.14, où le mot appelé est opposé à "élu".
