World English Bible Many nations shall join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.

Et beaucoup de nations s'attacheront... En contemplant les effets de la présence de Dieu en la personne du Messie au milieu de son peuple, les nations païennes se joindront au peuple de l'Eternel. Seulement il faut remarquer que le prophète ne dit pas qu'elles s'attacheront à Israël, mais à l'Eternel lui-même ; ce qui implique que leur rapport avec l'Eternel sera distinct de celui qui lie Israël à son Dieu. Comparez les prophéties d'Esaïe chapitre 2 et de Michée chapitre 4.

Il est évident que le prophète contemple ici la conversion des païens au Dieu d'Israël, comme effet de la venue du Messie.
