Segond 21 Il instaura, le quinzième jour du huitième mois, une fête pareille à celle qui se célébrait en Juda et il offrit des sacrifices sur l'autel. Il agit de la même manière à Béthel afin que l'on y offre des sacrifices aux veaux qu'il avait faits, et il y plaça les prêtres des hauts lieux qu'il avait institués.

World English Bible Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah, and he went up to the altar; he did so in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places that he had made.

Et Jéroboam institua une fête. C'était la fête qui correspondait à celle des Tabernacles (voir 8.2). Il la maintint au quinzième jour du mois, mais il la transporta du septième au huitième mois. Tout en conservant les apparences extérieures de la légalité, il la violait, de manière à rendre la séparation des deux peuples aussi complète que possible. Peut-être profita-t-il dans ce but du fait que les récoltes se terminaient un peu plus tard dans les tribus du nord que dans celle de Juda.

Il offrit des sacrifices sur l'autel : tels que ceux qui étaient prescrits pour la fête des Tabernacles (Nombres 29.12-13).

Il fit ainsi à Béthel. Il installa à Béthel les sacrificateurs des hauts-lieux (aussi bien ceux qui devaient fonctionner à Dan que ceux destinés à Béthel).

      33 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
      34 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say, 'On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tents for seven days to Yahweh.
      35 On the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no regular work.
      36 Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. On the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. It is a solemn assembly; you shall do no regular work.
      37 "'These are the appointed feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh, a burnt offering, and a meal offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, each on its own day;
      38 besides the Sabbaths of Yahweh, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings, which you give to Yahweh.
