Ceux qui demeurent dans une certaine insouciance, doivent craindre de ne pas bénéficier pleinement de la Grâce divine. Une véritable conversion ne doit pas seulement être produite par l'horreur des péchés qui ne conduisent qu'à la ruine, mais aussi par ceux qui ont pu amener illicitement du profit. C'est en abandonnant le lourd fardeau qui nous écrase, que nous pouvons alors vraiment nous approcher de Dieu en toute confiance.Jéhu montra beaucoup de zèle et d'ardeur pour déraciner la fausse religion qui envahissait le pays d'Israël, mais il ne s'inquiéta pas spécialement de savoir s'il accomplissait son devoir et agissait pleinement selon la volonté divine. Ceux qui demeurent dans une certaine insouciance, doivent craindre de ne pas bénéficier pleinement de la Grâce divine. Le peuple était également négligent : il ne faut pas s'étonner, en conséquence, de voir l'Éternel envoyer l'épreuve en cette période, sur le pays d'Israël. Les Hébreux n'accomplirent pas pleinement leur devoir envers Dieu, ce Dernier a donc limité leur essor, leur richesse, et leur puissance.
