World English Bible Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.

La conversion de Crispus, chef de la synagogue, et de toute sa maison fut un grand triomphe de l'Evangile au milieu du combat que soutenait l'apôtre. Aussi voulut-il, contre son habitude, baptiser lui-même cette famille. (1Corinthiens 1.14)

En outre, beaucoup de Corinthiens qui entendaient la parole de Paul croyaient et étaient baptisés.

Ces verbes à l'imparfait indiquent que l'œuvre divine de la conversion des âmes se continuait par le ministère de l'apôtre.

Le participe entendant est sans régime en grec.

Plusieurs traduisent : entendant parler de la conversion de Crispus et de la rupture de Paul avec la synagogue
