Désignation du Messie dans Daniel 7.13 ; 10.16 ; (comparez Matthieu 8.20, note.) Ce titre n'est donné à Jésus-Christ, après sa glorification, que dans Actes 7.56. Christ apparaît au milieu des sept chandeliers, c'est-à-dire des Eglises, pour montrer qu'il veille sur elles et leur communique la lumière et la vie.

Grec : robe qui descend jusqu'aux pieds, c'est le vêtement du souverain sacrificateur. (Exode 28.4,31 et suivants)

Daniel 10.5. La ceinture autour des reins indique l'action, (Luc 12.35) placée plus haut, sur les mamelles elle permettait aux plis du vêtement de tomber de plus haut et de produire un effet plus majestueux.
