Comparer verset 3, note et verset 12. Ici il ne s'agit plus seulement d'une guérison de la bête, mais d'un retour à la vie.

La bête qui représente l'empire est de plus en plus identifiée avec l'empereur ; c'est ce qu'indique en grec l'emploi du pronom relatif masculin relié au mot bête, qui est neutre.
