Comparer Esaïe 6.2. Elles leur permettaient de montrer leur profonde vénération pour Dieu et leur prompte obéissance.

Comparer verset 6. Une variante de Q porte : "ayant chacun six ailes tout à l'entour, et au dehors et au dedans ils sont pleins d'yeux." D'après le texte, ce sont bien les êtres vivants qui sont pleins d'yeux au dedans. Mais l'idée que l'auteur a voulu exprimer pourrait être celle que lui prête la version d'Oltramare : "Ils sont couverts d'yeux tout autour du corps et sous les ailes."

Esaïe 6.3. Comparer, pour la fin de cette doxologie : qui était, qui est et qui vient, Apocalypse 1.4, 2e note. Celui qui était occupe la première place, tandis qu'il ne venait qu'en second dans Apocalypse 1.4 et Apocalypse 1.8
