10 à 13 Le bien-aimé invite Sulammith à une promenade pour jouir de toute la beauté d'une journée printanière. Rien de plus exquis que ce tableau de la nature qui se réveille après la courte saison des pluies.

Le figuier rougit ses jeunes figues. Le figuier porte en Palestine deux espèces de figues : les précoces, qui poussent sur le bois de l'année précédente et qui sont mûres au mois de juin, et les tardives, qui poussent sur les branches nouvelles de l'année et apparaissent à la base des feuilles, mûrissant successivement dès le mois d'août, les unes encore durant l'été, les autres restant suspendues à l'arbre pendant tout l'hiver et n'étant mûres qu'au printemps, souvent seulement après l'apparition des feuilles ; comparez Marc 11.13.
