Colossiens 4.12

Épaphras qui est des vôtres, esclave du Christ Jésus, vous salue, combattant toujours pour vous par des prières, afin que vous demeuriez parfaits et bien assurés dans toute la volonté de Dieu ;
Épaphras, qui est des vôtres, et serviteur de Christ, vous salue ; il ne cesse de combattre pour vous dans ses prières, pour que vous soyez parfaits, et accomplis dans toute la volonté de Dieu.
Epaphras, qui est aussi l’un des vôtres, vous envoie également ses salutations. En serviteur de Jésus-Christ, il combat sans cesse pour vous dans ses prières, pour que vous teniez bon, comme des adultes dans la foi, prêts à accomplir pleinement la volonté de Dieu.

Epaphras avait été l'évangéliste de Colosses, le fondateur de cette Eglise, (Colossiens 1.7) peut-être aussi des Eglises voisines ; (verset 13) de plus, il était lui-même de Colosses (des vôtres) : autant de raisons qui expliquent le combat de ses prières pour que ses compatriotes et ses frères, convertis par son moyen à Jésus-Christ, ne fussent pas séduits par les faux docteurs, mais restassent fermes au milieu des séductions et des dangers, parfaits par le développement de la vie chrétienne, (Colossiens 1.28 ; Jacques 1.4) et pleinement persuadés (vrai texte, au lieu de "accomplis").

Les derniers mots : dans toute volonté de Dieu peuvent se rapporter aux trois termes qui précèdent. De là le témoignage que l'apôtre rend à Epaphras. (verset 13)
