Comme des aiguillons : terme exprimant avec force l'impression profonde que laissent dans le cœur certaines sentences bien frappées.

Comme des clous bien plantés : demeurant solidement enfoncés dans l'intelligence et devenant chaque jour comme le clou auquel on suspend les objets, le point auquel se rattachent des réflexions nouvelles.

Ils sont donnés par un seul berger, (Genèse 49.24 ; Psaumes 23.1).
